As a Working Student in Software Engineering & AI (all genders), you’ll join our development team and gain hands-on experience building complex, large-scale software that transforms the construction industry:

• Collaborate directly with our core development team on real product features
• Use cutting-edge developer tools like Cursor and Claude Code to accelerate your workflow
• Design, test, deploy, and maintain backend or frontend components of alago’s platform
• Contribute ideas to improve performance, usability, and user experience
• Support with QA and customer onboarding & deployment.

You will be working closely with Vinzenz (CTO) and who owns tech.

Our Stack: We use TypeScript across both frontend and backend, with Next.js and Tailwind for the frontend. Our backend runs on serverless Node.js functions. For LLM chains, we leverage LangChain and LangGraph. Our infrastructure is based on Vercel and Supabase (PostgreSQL with vector embeddings).

As a working student or intern, you don’t need to know all of these yet—if you’re familiar with some and eager to learn the rest, we’d love to hear from you!

Qualifications

• C1 fluency in German – You’ll navigate complex construction industry jargon and must be able to refine prompts or dive deep into our German data to optimize them effectively.
• You are currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Informatics, Computer Science, Business Informatics or similar
• You have hands-on experience developing web-based front-end solutions with JavaScript and React (GitHub contributions are a plus).
• You have some exposure to RAG systems and are familiar with basic prompting techniques.
• You are enthusiastic about AI/ML, even if you’re still building your expertise.
• You have projects from university, student clubs personal projects, or internships—and we’d love to hear about them!
• You are available for at least 6 months

Bonus Points:

• You’ve built or contributed to projects using Loveable, v0, Cursor or similar
• You’ve participated in hackathons
• Great UI/UX excites you
